In South Africa, we celebrate two of the most important days in our democratic history: Human Rights Day on March 21 and National Freedom Day on April 27. These days remind us of our collective struggle for dignity, equality, and justice.

During Mental Health Awareness Month, we recognize the mental health challenges faced by individuals, especially intersex people, who often experience stigma, medical trauma, and social isolation, significantly impacting their well-being.
