The pulmonology team at it again in the miniround. This time the team highlighted chronic pulmonary aspergillosis. The patient was treated twice for microbiologically confirmed PTB but without resolution of symptoms…in this case, the experts recommended always think of CPA.

An excellent miniround from the cardiology team on peripartum cardiomyopathy. Key messages…do not stop at telling the patient to go on contraception, follow up and make sure they start as another pregnancy can worsen it. Multidisciplinary approach is key.

Nephrology team with a great miniround. Key points: AKI and blackwater fever are on the rise in malaria. In a patient with fever who is not improving despite treatment think of conditions like MAS/HLH. Flowers for the team 💐💐

Today was an excellent collaboration with the team from Cancer Institute adding great knowledge to the hematology miniround. Definitely an interesting case: CML transforming to ALL. Key point: CML has good response to TKI therapy and it is available at UCI.

Dr. Ddungu delivered an insightful talk on TDF bone mineral disease and how often it’s overlooked. 👏👏 The IDI team is piloting a study to identify affected patients earlier. They also profiled real cases to give us a practical, on-the-ground perspective.
