The new 'Western' Task Force team, to tackle knife crime and U25 violence, has now landed. Officers have been straight into action, several arrests and 'tens' of stop searches on 'targets' in the town centres of Walsall Police and West Bromwich Town Police #LifeorKnife #StopSearch

Western Task Force officers have been deployed to West Bromwich Town Police town centre, this evening. After a long distance foot chase, the team have arrested a male in possession of a 'hunting' knife #StopSearch #LifeorKnife

Team 2 Task Force officers rapidly deployed to #Birmingham today after sighting of a #Wanted male in the City. Short while later male in custody for #Robbery of a gold chain which occurred on Jiggins Lane last year. #OpGuardian

Another great result for Team 2, after plain clothes officers spotted a group acting suspicously within #Birmingham Grand Central today. Upon searching the group, a 17 year old male was found to be in possession of a knife. #SayNoToKnives #LifeOrKnife #SaferStreets

Officers stopped this vehicle tonight in the #SellyOak area. After officer suspicions were raised, further enquiries revealed the front seat passenger was 16 and missing from #Essex. Child now returned safely and enquiries on going with the driver. Vehicle also seized 👍

Team 1 Bournville stopped a car this evening due to weapons marker. Unfortunately for the occupants 71 wraps of suspected class A was found. All 4 in custody Inspector Colin Gallier

Team 3 have had a busy day in the City Centre Wolverhampton Police A vehicle seized and driver reported for driving offences. Occupants arrested for separate matters. A later 🏃‍♀️, with 2 males, resulted in both being arrested in possession of knives #StopSearch #LifeorKnife

Team 2 & 3 have worked together, this afternoon, in West Bromwich West Bromwich Town Police Separate foot chases have resulted in the arrest of 2 males. One for shoplifting/warrant and the other for a rape offence. A vehicle has also been seized and driver reported #NoDocs #Proactivity

Taskforce officers were in the Washwood Heath Police area with the local team targeting a group using dirt bikes in Ward End Park. After sneaking up on the males and a footchase this bike was seized. 2 males arrested after a rambo knife and other weapons were recovered. #lifeorknife

Arrests | Specialist plain clothes officers were deployed to canal tow paths across #Birmingham City Centre on 1st March. This ultimately resulted in the arrest of two males. They have subsequently been charged with 29 robberies across the canals over recent months!

Arrests | Taskforce officers deployed to #KingsHeath in #Birmingham yesterday Four 16-18 year old males arrested from the High Street after being found with a quantity of Class A &B drugs A further 16 year old arrested after a footchase and trying to dump a combat knife

Team 3 have had a busy afternoon in West Bromwich Town Centre West Bromwich Town Police Sandwell Police. Two males have been arrested, within an hour, from proactive stops. Both were found in possession of hunting/combat knives #StopSearch #LifeorKnife

Arrest | Officers patrolling the #SellyOak area came across 4 males, some of which where wearing balaclavas. Upon subsequent #StopSearch one of the males, aged 16, was found in possession of a combat knife in his waistband! #LifeOrKnife #TalkToYourChildren

Arrests | Task force officers responded rapidly alongside Force Response to a shop in the #Brandwood area that had reportedly been robbed at knife-point. Officers eventually tracked and located the 4 suspects hiding within a HMO nearby. #OpRuby #4inCustody

Seized | After our earlier arrests officers have been busy executing search warrants at the suspects addresses During one such search a further 4 flick knives were recovered alongside 10 nasty knuckledusters Suspect will now be further arrested for possessing prohibited weapons
