she nodded her head, a mix of both excitement yet sadness in her eyes— i don’t like being away from you. when you’re gone, i. . i don’t know how to explain it. but, if i could have the chance to still see you when i’m gone. . it might make it a bit easier.

she wrapped her arms around him, a little sniffle as she rubbed his back— can i make them for you, too? just so you can see what i’m up to, how my training is going. . i don’t want to leave you.

shifting her posture a bit in unease, fingers rubbing her neck down to her collarbone— i had one of those nightmares again. . the ones that hurt. . .

she sat down next to him, nodding her head softly. she couldn’t look at him, so her eyes stayed staring down at the floor— what’s wrong with me? why is this happening to me?

as he rose from the bed, little inova rubbed at her neck. with tears welling in her eyes, she chocked back a sob— her nightmares were just becoming more frequent, maybe it had something to do with that thing she heard her dad and his friend talking about. . . the force, was it?

as instructed, she held the cool damp cloth to her neck, tears leaking from her eyes and rolling down her cheeks— why does this keep happening to me, dad? why do they hurt?

i’ve always felt different, dad.. i don’t want to be different. i just want to be like you.
