After trying a few terrible VR sword fighting games, I'm motivated to brush off a prototype and bring it at least to a state it can be put out into the world I'll be live streaming development at twitch.tv/InnerScript if you want to tune in #indiegamesdev #vr #twitch

#DevLog: Focusing on the all important first few minutes of gameplay. Tomorrow, coffee shop play testing and further refinements to level 1

#DevLog: Some clean up of level one and some performance tweaks. Today starts a personal #indiegamedev game jam. #indiecade sub so close!

#DevLog: Finally got around to profiling. An unused feature was causing a 20fps drop on mobile. Commenting out for now. Maybe forever.

#DevLog: Need more coffee shop playtesters, the first few were immensely helpful. Going to the one by the uni tomorrow to get more feedback.

#DevLog: Revisiting all of the art again. Every time something gets wired in, it pans out not up to snuff. My standards are too high.

@JoshRetweetKing Ugh, Twitter. I understand why they do that, but it makes sense if I send a DM, that you now get a magic pass to respond?

#DevLog: Rewrote the player controller code completely, scrapping most of the previous system because players had trouble with controls

The new code based on raycasting to manage player navigation. Because the game world is vector, this a bit tricky. Not perfect, but closer.

#DevLog: Focusing on the editor, which will likely be #Overlap2D, as it's a good base to work from. First up, polygon enhancements and bugs.

After tenaciously learning #Unity3D for a few days, I have some of the basics down. It's surprisingly quick to #gamedev for once you get it.

It's OK to start many #gamedev prototypes and never finish, as long as you learned from it. That's what I'm telling myself, at least :)
