Sometimes I hate myself for the kind of gameplay ideas I have, coding the block physics with the screws was SOO hard But I'm happy that the block puzzles are getting more varied and better integrated with platforming, pacing and all (game is ABYSS X ZERO 👇) #gamedev #lowpoly

Adding "slop" as a suffix for game genres is so disappointing. Games with story and little gameplay are called "themeslop" now?? They're all art. Instead of celebrating more indie games coming out we're just subtly diminishing their value with such terms.

Insanely bad take. Because you don't see the technical complexities of problems firsthand if you're not working in that medium, it's easier to discount them. Pixel art, from the outside looking in, seems the most approachable - so devs start with it. Doesn't mean it's easy.
