THIS! This is the truth. Government not funding teachers pay (even when it’s below inflation), 600% increase in energy bills, cost of supplies increasing. This is the reason for the strikes! Chronic underfunding from the Government. Be angry at them- not the teachers!

Ian Johnson This is not quite correct, I am afraid. Supply teachers do not have many benefits of contracted teachers - this is true (for example sick pay). As a serving Headteacher I can tell you that teachers are contracted for set hours, and their salary is spread over 12 months.
