This is a really great point about when face masks are re-introduced in hospitals as they see surges in Covid that overwhelm them. Literally nothing else gets switched on and off like this as an infection control measure. It's bonkers that it isn't standard at all times.

Everyone is sick because we’re in a big COVID surge. Everyone is sick because our Public Health authorities aren’t giving the public the advice they need to avoid infection. Everyone is sick because we still don’t clean the air in all schools and hospitals.

There is no data monitoring system across the UK for Covid that current accurately reflects community or hospital prevalence of infection. We are at least 4 years deep into NHS Covid denial & clinical bias against doing a test is real. This makes even hospital numbers inaccurate.
