If they don’t actually cut their faces off and reverse their identities like in the ‘97 John Woo action movie FACE/OFF then I am going to be seriously disappointed.

Yarvin’s read on early US history is interesting, but his attempt to draw a direct line from supposedly leftist elements in the revolution to present-day race communism has never been convincing. His flogging of the reading list and twee asides are just squid ink. Rufo wins.

Looking forward to reading this later tonight.

The ongoing back and forth between Rufo and Yarvin, as I wrote in January, is interesting because it is primarily focused on strategy, not ideological purity spiraling.

MUST-READ: 'You assert that you’re a radical. But who's really the radical here? As we both know, the word 'radical' means striking at the roots, which is earthly, tangible, physical work...' —Christopher F. Rufo ⚔️ debates Curtis Yarvin on power, strategy & more: im1776.com/2024/04/11/ruf…

“There are principles and elements deeper in the structure that hold profound truth. And I believe that excavating and reanimating those principles is what we should be doing.” —Christopher F. Rufo ⚔️

This contentious back-and-forth debate between Christopher Rufo and Curtis Yarvin about the path forward for conservatism is an absolute riot of entertainment. Highly recommended:

Upshot for me is that these guys are doing entirely different things. Rufo is playing hardball politics in the here and now. Yarvin is theorizing, engaged mainly in a literary endeavor that could have an impact in the distant future. They can both be right at the same time. The…

THE MOLDBUG-RUFO DEBATE

“You've never accomplished anything Curtis your work is just mostly wrong masturbatory abstractions”

There is much to learn from Curtis Yarvin and Christopher F. Rufo ⚔️.

While Yarvin continually challenges my conventional thinking, and I believe both Yarvin and Rufo are 'in the arena' (though in different ways), Rufo has achieved many measurable conservative victories.

Even with some…

I like Yarvin and find him often insightful but this is ultimately his problem. What he says here is true but he seems to believe that it justifies his position when really it disqualifies it. So what *is* possible? That's where Rufo's strategy comes in. 1/2

This exchange is interesting, and I appreciate that both Yarvin and Rufo seem aligned in the most valuable goal right now, that of revealing the monster to the world.

After a fashion, doing so destroys some of our national mythos in the same way one must gut a house with flood…

Firmly in the Rufo camp on all of this, but the kicker is that even if Yarvin turned out to be right about the impossibility of the counterrevolutionary project, he doesn’t offer any answer to the question “well what do we do about it?”

EXCLUSIVE: Federal Reserve governor Lisa Cook is one of the most powerful economists in the world. But @LukeRosiak and I have discovered that her academic work appears to contain plagiarism, according to her former university’s policy.

The plagiarism scandal hits the Fed. 🧵
