A1: We can celebrate courage in the classroom by teaching what courage is and how it can look in our lives - kiddos and adults. Next, I think it's important to call courage out when we see it so kids begin to recognize it in their world. #ksdpd

A3: Some of the best connections I've had with students (and families) started with home visits. Also - listening - truly LISTENING - to kids without judgment is crucial in building connections. #ksdpd

A4: We need to first truly believe that perfectionism is not something to pride ourselves on. The definitions of perfectionism on pages 56 & 57 are painful and humbling at the same time. #ksdpd

A5: We need to stand out by taking risks. I think we need to frequently remind ourselves that it's ok to be different and feel like we don't fit in in order to BELONG by being authentic and true to ourselves. #ksdpd

A5: It is our responsibility to make sure every student feels as though they belong. Reading powerful books and using class meetings to facilitate discussions about the beauty of differences and the unique gifts we all possess will help students belong and accept others. #ksdpd

I’m thinking differently than student-led conferences. What about no pressure on the student other than sitting to soak in love and compliments from those who love him/her? ❤️
