The Archives, IHP, has preserved seven photographs capturing the 1953 donation ceremony of “Sen-oku seisho,” a valuable bronze catalogue printed in collotype, presented by the Sumitomo Group. In return, the IHP gifted a copy of “Yinxu wenzi yi bian.”

“Dong Xi yang kao” is often cited in studies on the Basay peoples in 17th-century northern Taiwan. However, Dr. Yu-mei Chen notes inconsistencies with Basay customs and that many contents were copied from “Dongfan ji,” which describes southwestern Taiwan.

When conducting dialect surveys in the 1930s, IHP researchers also collected local folk stories. One from She County, Anhui, described in both gazetteers and a stele inscription by local officials, depicts the unjust execution of Madame Huang due to miscommunication.

“Medical Recipe Cave” at Longmen contains 140–155 medical recipes (“fang”) engraved from 650–653, a Buddhist practice to benefit society. Dr. Liu Shu-fen suggests these recipes circulated among monks and were introduced to Japan through Buddhist exchanges.
