In an emergency without a valid medical aid scheme, medical insurance or USD150 for Casualty fees+/- USD250-300 for Drs Deposit and USD300-600 for hospital deposit just drive straight to any nearest GVT Facility for help! #NavigatingHealthcareZimbabwe

In an emergency without a valid medical aid, medical insurance or USD cash that's the only advice i can give one. You can make an alternative plan after initial stabilization at any nearest GVT facility. Not everything is there, but enough to handle an emergency may be found..

It is not in #Kenya only, all of #Africa thats the trend. Only the monied have better chance of surviving. There is need for investments in the public health system for there to be equity on survival..

Healthy lifestyle are a must now than before. We are taking excess sugar beyond the daily requirements. Fast foods are migrating to our door stops in the ghettos, smoking is rampant and alcohol and drugs have entrenched themselves in our society.#NavigatingHealthcareZimbabwe

When it comes to #HealthFinancing in #Zimbabwe, an alternative to traditional medical aid schemes & insurance is needed. A "hybrid" product resilient to inflationary pressures providing a win win situation to all is needed & a must! #NavigatingHealthcareZimbabwe

I shall be doing trend analysis and updates of all or most medical aid schemes & or medical insurance as well as the best performing packages in #Zimbabwe giving value to clients in a sustainable win win fashion... #NavigatingHealthcareZimbabwe

Imagine contributing to a medical aid scheme for years and in a certain month your company pays the subscription late by a day and an emergency arises and you are denied access to treatment because your medical aid is suspended. #NavigatingHealthcareZimbabwe

Its time the National health insurance scheme is rolled out in #Zimbabwe. Alternative health financing options at public health institutions will relieve the burden on tax payers, avail critical resources & improve quality of life of patients. #NavigatingHealthcareZimbabwe

Did you know that irrespective of what medical aid/insurance you are on, if one of your dependents on the scheme attempts suicide ( para-suicide), they will not cover and you pay the whole bill for ambulance & hospital on cash basis. #NavigatingHealthcareZimbabwe #mentalhealth

Medical aid/insurances need to reconsider their decisions of not covering emergency mental health issues especially para-suicide if the member is fully paid up...the burden shouldn't be left out to GVT only...#NavigatingHealthcareZimbabwe #mentalhealth

Kai (@smsamusodza) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Plausible indeed. I hope others will follow suit...i hope they will continue to look into other mental health emergencies.

Mental health care in #Zimbabwe in the past few years has evolved from being catered by GVT only although at no cost to include private institutions for those who can afford. Half way house is such facility that has contributed among other players #NavigatingHealthcareZimbabwe

What percentage of member contributions of a medical aid/insurance should be channelled towards administrative purposes in order to retain value for subscribers? #NavigatingHealthcareZimbabwe

A lot of people are just one admission into hospital or one prescription to realise how poor or broke they are... #NavigatingHealthcareZimbabwe #UniversalHealthCoverage #NationalHealthInsuranceZimbabwe #NHIZW
