Honoured to attend the Holocaust Remembrance Day in Larnaca, where survivors Michal and Rivka shared a profoundly moving testimony of the Holocaust. Their courage and strength continue to educate and inspire us all.

It was great privilege to attend the UN medals ceremony today, honouring the contribution of our peacekeepers in Cyprus and to recall their work for the safety and security of all Cypriots in the past 60 years.

The sacrifice of our peacekeepers, in particular those who tragically lost their lives serving the UN, reminds us of the constant need to work for peace.

Delighted to sign the grant agreement on behalf of the Irish government to support the Committee of Missing Persons. Through annual contributions Ireland remains committed in supporting Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP) vital role in identifying and returning the remains of missing persons in Cyprus.

I remind citizens that, since October, my Department advises against all travel to Lebanon. I urge Irish citizens in Lebanon to leave by commercial means. Citizens should be aware that, if the security situation deteriorates, we may be limited in the assistance we can provide.
