#TBThursday A few months ago, we executed our urban agriculture project in Katanga -The ICA "flexi-shelf". Together with our cliet Jaaja Namasole (Dagala), we came up with a simple design to help her expand her home garden.

We held our first workshop with the residents of Katanga and presented the Flexi-shelf project to them. They also shared with us their aspirations for urban gardening and together, we brainstormed on how we can move this agenda forward. It was a very informative discussion!!!

We had our training session on sack gardening on 9th November! Special thanks to the Ghetto Research Lab who facilitated the training and to Rotaract Kampala North who supported us!

In this one sack, we were able to plant; Strawberries, tomatoes, Lettuce, irish potatoes, mint and spring onions!!! Could this be a solution to the food shortage in Katanga?? Stay tuned to find out!!😊😄😁

The Initiative for Community Architecture will be doing a follow up visit to the Uganda Society of Architects' CSR project completed in 2018. We shall be reviewing and documenting the impact of architecture in shaping this community of Kayunga. #communityarchitecture
