It's been 8 years since HMG published its Hate Crime Action Plan. It expired in 2020. As divisions & hostilities deepen, we need a renewed evidence-based response to hate. 📢 To fill this gap, we're launching a national consultation with The Centre for Hate Studies protectionapproaches.org/mfc

"The UK has a responsibility, as Penholder in the UN Security Council, to ensure the protection of civilians and speak out on violations of international law." Great to see new International Development Committee members David Taylor MP & Laura Kyrke-Smith MP spotlighting urgent protection needs in Sudan.

Continued and widespread atrocities committed by the RSF in Al Jazirah state demand a concrete response. Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office must heed the calls of Sudanese civil society, UK diaspora & NGOs and raise the bar of ambition for civilian protection. #KeepEyesOnSudan news.un.org/en/story/2024/…

Massive thanks to U.S. Institute of Peace Ambassador-at-Large for Global Criminal Justice & Special Envoy: Human Rights of LGBTQI+ Persons for an incredibly stimulating conversation on #LGBTQI+ inclusive approaches to #transitionaljustice & #accountability🕊️🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 Centring LGBTQI+ rights & risks must be a priority for ALL peace & security work🙌

We very much hope UK at the UN 🇬🇧🇺🇳 will use their UNSC Presidency to spotlight the ongoing triple threat of armed conflict, identity-based atrocity violence and famine in Sudan. As penholder and President, the UK must drive forward urgent protection measures. #KeepEyesOnSudan

🚨BREAKING: Humanitarian Research Lab (HRL) at YSPH corroborates alleged mass killings of civilians in Gezira by RSF through satellite imagery analysis. Body disposal, large-scale burials at cemeteries, & presence of looting visible at Tamboul, Rufaa, & Al-Sariha. 🛰️ Planet Maxar Technologies medicine.yale.edu/lab/khoshnood/…

PCRC's Velma Saric and Tatjana took part last week in the “Reconciliation in the Western Balkans” conference, organized by Aspen Germany. As a stakeholder in the #BerlinProcess, PCRC joined experts and decision-makers to explore reconciliation within the framework of EU

On Your Side supports families experiencing racial bullying targeting children with East and Southeast Asian heritage such as being called racist names, having belongings damaged, facing personal attacks, or being excluded.

You still have time to sign up to free bystander training run by Protection Approaches in partnership with TfL Before taking part, only 28% of people said they knew what to do if they saw harassment happening in front of them. That rose to 87% afterwards Sign up 👉 tinyurl.com/PA-ABSessions
