Besides Ibn Saʿ'd's Tabaqat and late works like al-Isaba by Ibn Ḥajar. An important source, though rarely mentioned, is (Mu’jam al-Sahaba) by Abu al-Qasim al-Baghawi (829-929), one of the earliest works to give biographical information about the Prophet’s companions.

The ms of Ibn al-Kalbi's (al-Mathalib-المثالب-the Vices) preserved in Dar el-Kotob, Cairo. The ms is undated (probably from the 7th century H). Due to its "sensitive" content & the challenges over the author's credibility, the work has been ignored, & there's no scholarly edition

تميزت هذه الطبعة من كتاب (الذخيرة في علم الكلام) للشريف المرتضى تـ٤٣٦ في اعتمادها على نسخة نفيسة كتبها أحد طائفة القرائين اليهود بفسطاط مصر سنة ٤٧٢ هـ، وقد عرف عن هذه الطائفة تأثرها ببعض الفرق الكلامية الإسلامية وانتساخ كتبهم.
