Broadcast Standards Matter: Upholding the Right to Reply The right to reply is a fundamental tenet of ethical and responsible journalism. It ensures that individuals and organisations are given the opportunity to respond to claims or opinions made about them in broadcast content.

Protecting children from harmful broadcast content is a legal and moral duty. Broadcasters must ensure content likely to endanger a child's development is properly classified and restricted. In Zambia, such content is only permitted during the watershed period (22:00–05:00).

As the nation observes the seven (7) day period of National Mourning, the IBA has called upon all radio and television stations as well as members of the public to conduct themselves with the utmost respect, decorum and sensitivity during this solemn time.
