Last week I posted a hypothetical Chinese invasion of Argentina to lock the US Navy’s east coast ships in the Atlantic.

Did I post that because I think it’s likely or good naval strategy? Nope

I posted it because wars often start with a bold and seemingly ridiculous idea

Correct, among other reasons:

- It forfeits the element of surprise
- It gives America the initiative to challenge the blockade from a generated position
- It's very difficult to cost-impose people into surrendering their autonomy.

Etc.

Let's assume the Chinese know this.
