Thanks to Jeremy Vine for covering young driver risk. My main point was on the numbers, and which group gets focused on. There were 4,935 people killed or seriously injured in young driver crashes in 2022. Politicians and the media seem to focus on young drivers breaking the

It is four years since we met you and Sharron, before that we journeyed alone, sole voices in a wilderness.
We knew others were out there and with Forget Me Not Families Uniting, all of our voices are now being heard.

Edmund King OBE The Times and The Sunday Times The AA When our daughter first passed her test we told her that her insurance didn't cover her carrying passengers in her car unless I or my wife was with her.
It gave her the perfect excuse to not have a car full of noisy seventeen-year-olds, inevitably distracting her.
Edmund King OBE The Times and The Sunday Times The AA You have my complete support. My nephew sustained life changing injuries 15 years ago as passenger in a car driven by a friend who’d passed their test just a few days before.
The driver sadly passed away - a tragedy for several families.
I wrote 6 letters to senior MPs / party leaders about road safety, and young drivers specifically. Number 2 reply has arrived. Thank you Caroline Lucas for what can only be described as a beautiful response. Compassionate, honest, realistic, but also practical and with some

This is Department for Transport data which shows speed as a contributing factor, and there is a well evidence connection between speed and injury severity - that’s not selective!
MTimC Road Safety GB Mark Harper Louise Haigh I am not arguing that the number of deaths and serious injuries in young driver crashes isn’t falling, over time, it is!
I am arguing that a tried and tested policy - #GDL - can reduce the latest numbers (4,935 in 2022) further.
I believe that 4,935 dead or seriously injured
dr ian greenwood BBC Breakfast Guy Opperman Louise Haigh MP’s are never interested unless it garners votes. All activists need to come together and keep pushing for change. We can and will effect change but it takes co-ordinated effort. We must prevail. KSI figures are unacceptable. Any death is one to many.
A lesson I have learned is that private meetings with Ministers / (some) MPs rarely end up with action: I have had far too many. Take the mainstream media with you, and it increases your chances! Well done Crystal Owen Nicole Taylor Caitlin's Campaign Rebecca Morris Lucy Straker - she/they 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
People killed or seriously injured in young driver crashes is disproportionate high. In 2022 = 4,935. Most MPs have not been interested other than sympathy. Well done to Crystal to taking BBC Breakfast to Guy Opperman Louise Haigh bbc.com/news/articles/…
