After 4 years as weekend editor for national & politics, I was laid off from the The Washington Post. Every weekend was nonstop with assassination attempts, court actions, global military strikes -- all harder to cover with 300 fewer talented journalists. Next steps TK/DMs open.

I was laid off today from the Washington Post’s campaigns team covering the midterms and 2028. I hear this is an important election year — and I want to cover it aggressively. If you’d like to work together, my DMs are open and you can email me at [email protected].

I was laid off from The Washington Post today. My feeds are full of other Post journalists — great reporters and editors, and really good humans — who are in the same situation, and my heart aches for every one. Some work I'm proud of:

After almost four years at The Washington Post, my role was eliminated along with a ton of other talented journos. It’s a cliche to say but this job was a dream come true. Thanks to my fantastic reporter friends and amazing editors who made the work better and banter funny.

I wish I’d known in the moment that I’d just filed my final story for the Washington Post, the only home I’ve known since j-school. I was honored to work with brilliant people to serve a mission I believed in. I am proud of what we did there. I want(ed) to do more.

The Washington Post laid off its entire award-winning photo staff. Every photographer, fired. The WaPo photo staff has won 5 Pulitzers, including as recently as 2019. With a newsroom that still has 300 journalists, how do you produce a daily report with…no photographers? —>

People are rightfully focused on the The Washington Post layoffs, but I'd also like to point out that the Atlanta Journal-Constitution also underwent a round of layoffs this week, too. Plus ProPublica Guild is preparing to strike. There are more journalists losing their jobs & fighting for better working conditions.

British TV anchor Kamali Melbourne of Sky News with a moving, personal response to Trump’s posting of the racist clip of the Obamas. I know Kamali just a little. I’m proud of him for saying this — and sad we’re in a moment when he has to.

I would have written a story on this for The Washington Post today, but since I can't do that I'll share the news here: The owners of a Maryland crematory that allowed bodies to pile up and decompose have been charged with crimes related to the improper disposal of human remains.

Take two minutes to watch this piece with NYT photojournalist Kenny Holston, the only news photographer on the House floor during Trump’s State of the Union speech. There’s one shot in particular that will likely end up in the history books. See if you catch which one.

Byron Allen just made another power move. The media mogul secured a 10.7% stake in Starz in a $25 million deal, expanding a portfolio that already includes The Weather Channel and multiple television and streaming platforms. But this isn’t just about shares, it’s about ownership

.Taj Jackson I really think its about time that u & the fandom GET IN THE NECK of this POS “writer” who has been making up these “insider stories” for YEARS now. This broke-ass, bottom-feeding delusional hack in bad suits. It’s been happening FAR TOO LONG. #MichaelMovie
