This has driven me crazy trying to keep our daughter’s bedroom a reasonable temperature all winter. My only thought is they may be deployed in areas where the heat flow is uneven, so the local sensor gets unreliable and therefore they just keep it a simple timing policy.

SAP Concur is the only SaaS app that just crashes when you use it. I halfway expect a BSOD page.

I’ll never forget Jeff Clune saying “writing is thinking” at one of our research meetings. It has stuck with me indelibly since. I bring it up all the time. I think PG is right on this one.
