At today's #Pride debate I spoke publicly for the first time about my alcohol addiction and being in recovery. I hope my openness helps challenge the stigma that stops so many people asking for help. Pride is about celebrating who we are, without shame.

Professional bodies (APA excluded get a grip). Freud dismissed sexual abuse, have we done the same with eating disorders? I remain angry with the BACP who have refused to engage with myself and the NCFED in our committed attempt to educate professionals & save lives. BACP

Massive respect to Dan Carden for sharing his #addiction story in parliament. That is very brave. Addiction in all its forms including #eatingdisorders is an illness that needs proper support to help save lives I just wish more MP’s would put their heads above the parapet.

Picking only 1 is tough as for me there is a combination of things that help me. I guess connection, genuine connection with other human beings who have and can meet me where I am at in that moment.
