Excited for my first Information+ this week! As I am trying to incorporate a strong design flavor in my research about explainable recommender system, I am looking forward to get inspired! Let's chat—I'll be around as an SV 😁

What a great start Information+. Very interesting workshop about human values and how to include/encode them in your data visualization process and design #infoplus2023

A very insightful second workshop at Information+ to understand how can we use the “DNA of visualization” with its fundamental building blocks , their interrelationships, and their various combinatorial possibilities to draft meaningful visualization #infoplus2023

While the second day of Information+ is around the corner, I am still reflecting on Stefanie Posavec keynote. Hearing her story and design process behind some of her works was amazing. There is not right or wrong way to do dataviz. And remember, behind the data there are people.

Bits from last day of Information+: 1) Erik Escoffier - @nerik.bsky.social reflects on biased datasets, calls devs and data biz designers to take responsibility for it 2) @teo_moretti emphasizes opening up open data for a broader audience. 3) Jose Duarte showcase how data viz can start conversations

Yesterday, I had a chance to speak at one of the Pint of Science Switzerland events. My talk, "In world of AI be human - What can we learn from #datahumanism and apply to explain #recommendersystems" was a great opportunity to share aspects of my research!

hello hello, next week I will at UMAP presenting on Thu my work at the Explainable User Models and Personalized System workshop. [disclaimer] this is not the 100% official slide, but you know never be too serious when you announce something 😇

With this relaxing view, my first UMAP and presentation at ExUM WS@UMAP2024 are now done. It was a really nice experience. UMAP’s researchers have been very friendly and gave me some interesting tips for my future works! See you next time!

On my way to ACM RecSys where I will serve once more as Student Volunteer! If you are interested at the intersection of #UI/UX design, data #visualization, and #explainability let’s talk while eating a panzerotto 😇 Can we have all conferences close to the sea?

I'm not a fan of text for #explanations in recsys since it doesn't enable users to dive deeper, but this explanation from Spotify's dynamic playlist is on point: contextualized and funny. Still, if you want to explore visual and interactive ways, I may know someone 😇

Looking for a (Nordic) #research summer escape from Zurich! CS #PhD student studying Data Humanism & explainable #RecSys. Will trade expertise in making algorithms #human-friendly for cinnamon rolls or sauna #internship
