Yay, my PR that supports Server Sent Events is now available for Rust and WebAssembly! SSE is great and should be used more. Having the browser manage the connection is an advantage over WebSockets. And given http/2 with one connect, there is even less benefit to WS. github.com/rustwasm/gloo/…

An update after a few months of usage. The event driven FSM lib we wrote is working out very well. This is a reasonable start point for taking on Akka Persistence using Rust. More to come as we move Rust more into the enterprise arena!

If you’re not able to run on one core and consume less than 10W of power then I don’t think you can claim to be running at the edge in practical terms.
