Yay, my PR that supports Server Sent Events is now available for Rust and WebAssembly! SSE is great and should be used more. Having the browser manage the connection is an advantage over WebSockets. And given http/2 with one connect, there is even less benefit to WS. github.com/rustwasm/gloo/…

I love listening to Jonas. He has unknowingly influenced the design of our edge based hardware and software at Cuprous. Give him a listen.

An update after a few months of usage. The event driven FSM lib we wrote is working out very well. This is a reasonable start point for taking on Akka Persistence using Rust. More to come as we move Rust more into the enterprise arena!

My colleague a4dev and I needed a server discovery protocol for our half-duplex protocol, flip-flop. You can search for another example implementing the protocol and the README on the home page describes its workings. The math: github.com/titanclass/fli…

Even if you don’t read this article, and you should, just let this sink in: “To be clear, the underlying problem is not the licensing, it’s that these companies don’t know how to make money”. OSS as a side-effect of a core business model makes most sense to me.

It amazes me how many companies still rely on daily batch loads - my accounts system banking integration, power utilities meters… There’s little excuse for being more than n minutes behind, depending on the use-case of course. Event driven is even better for the customer…

Improved the DSL for our event-driven FSM library - you now also declare those states/commands that are to be ignored. This has just helped me discover a number of bugs I had in an FSM: ``` ignore!(Idle => Stop); ignore!(Running => Start); ``` github.com/titanclass/edf…

If you’re not able to run on one core and consume less than 10W of power then I don’t think you can claim to be running at the edge in practical terms.

An idea for @Twitter and Elon Musk - the more followers you have, the less opportunity for your tweets to become noticed. Conversely, amplify the smaller voices toward equilibrium.

I'm gradually starting to use Twitter again (yeah, I know, X). Let's see how this goes... :-) a4dev and I recently updated our Event Driven Finite State Machine project (edfsm: github.com/titanclass/edf…). We've added support for the Moore and Mealy style FSMs to live together.

I wonder how many of you out there excited about the WASM component model know of similar technologies, back in the day… we can always learn from the past. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_Syste…

It upsets me that Elon Musk accuses the Australian government of fascism given that what we are trying to do is protect our children and the public at large re the internet. We have free speech, but with free speech also comes responsibility. Per the UN: humanrights.gov.au/our-work/right…
