Saw some stuff about routine and screens, the best solution we’ve found is for all devices not being available until 3pm and then use of screentime parental controls. It does absorb her but always wanting more and very unregulated after too much time

As to routines, we tried a half hour slot list but it didn’t work (torn up). So I came up with this - it’s flexible but still structured. Missy can move things around, and most is done by dinner. She moves the papers over to the other side of the doorframe during the day

First therapy session (on zoom) went better than could have hoped for (although therapist lost her for last 15 mins and went on for another 15 after that). However resulted in challenging evening with worst behaviour for days, this is going to be a very long haul...

Frankly it’s all gone a bit shit here for everyone. The routine has slipped, we’re all sleep deprived and miserable. But it’s another week and we have to make it work.

I want to ask school to take missy back (they had her for a day at the start) as she’s very vulnerable, before they took her only because I’m a teacher. However I feel a bit shit about asking. Does anyone have their kids in school still?

Good day yesterday followed by disregulation and violence today. She scratched my face (first time for years), stuff thrown at us (always the poor kitchen clock) and out of her window.

On walk with missy and who should be coming towards us but the headmaster of her school and family, wife does a friendly ‘hello missy how are you?’ Missy ‘fine thank you’ (as always presents as fine) - I am shaking my head, oh to be able to tell our reality!

School finally allowing missy back to school next Monday, we think because the g’ment says they should but the lack of empathy and understanding are extremely disappointing, zero pastoral support, even after we’ve reported the violence and self harm :(

Missy loving being back at school, only 8 kids in this week (1300+ school) so relaxed & with her (fostered) bestie. She cooked veggie curry for us to have for tea in food tech. We’re re-finding the routine for home again, feels so strange to be so quiet during the day

I’m very grateful for the support of our DDP therapist and the Virtual School, unfortunately continue to be disappointed by the school, especially pastorally, first email from missy’s tutor to his tutees arrived yesterday.

Time, DDP and continual efforts to connect have helped us move on from BoobGate, first week was most hard alas coincided with half term.

enjoying the first night I've had apart from little missy since she arrived, it's very quiet in the house, not sure what to do with myself!
