#onthisday in 1872, Yellowstone becomes the world's first national park. Yellowstone features dramatic canyons, alpine rivers, forests, hot springs and gushing geysers, including its most famous, Old Faithful.

#onthisday in 1872 The Metropolitan Museum of Art opened to the public. The fourth largest museum in the world now and one of the world’s finest art museum. It has been host to the Met Gala event since 1948 the museum’s annual fundraising event known as “fashion’s biggest night”.
