in 1872 The Metropolitan Museum of Art opened to the public. The fourth largest museum in the world now and one of the world’s finest art museum. It has been host to the Met Gala event since 1948 the museum’s annual fundraising event known as “fashion’s biggest night”.

The Multiangular tower situated in the Yorkshire Museum Gardens in York is possibly one of the county's oldest standing structure. The smaller stoned lower half of the building is of 2nd or 3rd century Roman build whist the top section is medieval.

in 1971 Alan Shepard became the first man to hit a golf ball on the moon, whilst on the mission Apollo 13, using a golf ball and club which he smuggled in his space suit. The mission was a success and he got to hit two balls just before lift off.🏌️

In 1948 Mahatma Gandhi, known as one of the greatest figures of modern India, was assassinated. Gandhi was an Indian lawyer who helped lead India to freedom from British colonial rule in 1947. Using his philosophy of nonviolence which inspires many leaders today.
