in 1993 16 innocent people were killed and over 50 were injured in the Zenica Massacre. Many grenades were launched into the midst of a busy area of the city by the Croatian Defense Council (HVO). Crimes against civilians like this were shockingly commonplace during the war.

“The Flowers of Srebrenica” by author Aidan Hehir and illustrator David Frankum is a moving, honest, yet at times humorous account of the author’s experience with Mustafa, a survivor of the Bosnian Genocide as they travel around Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We are very pleased that Remembering Srebrenica Ambassador Robert McNeil MBE
book ‘Grave Faces’ has been accepted by Srebrenica Memorial Center into its collection. Books like this must be made available and preserved so that we may learn the lessons of genocide.

Watch this powerful short video by Jana Lozanoska from Bard College, Berlin detailing mass graves throughout BiH & across the region. These sites were the legacies of genocide, where attempts to cover up crimes became evidence of systematic extermination.

in 1993, the Army of Republika Srpska began a shelling attack on Srebrenica which killed 56 innocent civilians and left 73 seriously wounded. This would be one of many deadly attacks on the people of Srebrenica. The scars of the Srebrenica Genocide remain to this day.
