Thank you Dmytro Kuleba for inviting me to Kharkiv today. Besieged, bombed, liberated – this city is a symbol for the madness of Russia’s aggression and for Ukrainian’s unbreakable will to live in freedom from oppression. Be sure that Germany will support you all the way.

European Newsroom (enr) The senior EU official drew particular attention to US journalist Evan Gershkovich, imprisoned in Russia. She called for "continuous pressure" on Moscow to release him, "because this is an outrageous attack on journalists and also on freedom of expression." /3

“On the surface there is an air of normality. In reality, there is nothing normal about what's happening here.” My personal reflections on what it feels like in Moscow more than 14 months after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. BBC News (UK)
Journalism is not a crime. #Russia must immediately release The Wall Street Journal reporter Evan #Gershkovich. His detention is unacceptable. Journalists must not become pawns in perfidious political maneuvers or the Kremlin’s political bargaining chips.
