One of the most successful female screenwriters of the 20th century alongside June Mathis and Anita Loos. She is credited on over 130 films, and was the first writer to win two Academy Awards.

It’s not news that Roger Corman was an explosive & truly singular artist. His creations trickled into our collective work in the movies & our collective dreams the world over. He lent me short ends to direct my first film. We are very lucky he was here.

My first writing job was with Roger Corman who just died. I went in for a meet-and-greet and instead they sat me down in a corner to read a killer cockroach book and start adapting for a movie to shoot in three weeks. He was the patron saint of first-timers. No one does that now

Meeting Steve Albini and working with him changed the course of my life. He taught me so much about music, and life. Steve was a great friend - wise, kind and generous. I am so grateful.
