Happy Birthday to Dashiell Hammett and Harlan Ellison, two of my writing idols. Harlan would have turned 90 today; Dash would have been a sprightly 130.

One of my dearest and closest friends - and the man who made me want to be a writer - would have been 90 today.

There won't be another like him.

Maybe we need to just cut from the creative process middlemen who take most of the value generated from work they don’t know how to do and product for which they have no appreciation. They can embrace that change instead.
