I was proud to support 2 key amendments to the operating budget today. One providing an increase of $480,000 for free and reduced lunches support for our children who need it & more than $8.9 million in bonus funding for our k-3 students for reading instructional support #akleg

I had an amazing visit with former UAF Chancellor, Marshall Lind. He served as chancellor at UAF from 1999 to 2005. Before that he served 12 years in charge of University of Alaska Southeast!! This amazing Alaskan also served as Alaska’s Education Commissioner 1972-1983. #akleg

Sore this morning from running the annual Midnight Sun Race, part of our rich tradition of celebrating the longest day! I met my goal, finishing 10k in 55 minutes. Got so many high fives, hugs, and handshakes from participants and from hundreds watching along the route #akelect

Lowering energy costs is a top priority of mine. It is getting to be very tough for many families to even keep their homes warm in winter. I will continue to fight for an “all of the above” solution to bring reliable and affordable energy to Fairbanks. #akelect
