Zane stroked her cheek. “We can. You are a genius, little swan.”

A hum. “You are far smarter than I am.” He said, stroking her side.

“Is it not?” He chuckled softly and booped her nose.

Zane has a surprise for her! He sets her down by the table. “Now, close your eyes!”

He sets a cake, in front of her. It’s shoddy and not very well presented. But it’s strawberry flavoured. “Ta da!”

A nod. “I found some strawberries in the freezer. You must try it!”

Zane blinked and beamed. He was proud of his work…. He sits beside her, cutting up the cake into a slice, handing it to her.

“Truly?” He asked, playing with his slice with the fork. “Did you… do you think it’s as good as yours?”

Zane smiled softly and takes a bite. A soft hum. “I found one of those books you left here… thought I would surprise you.”

Zane takes another bite. “Yes. It was handwritten.” He said, reaching out for her hand

Zane blushed to the kiss and takes her hand, kissing her knuckles. “I hope I did it justice, then.”

A slam before glitching. Appears behind her, a microphone pole in his hand. “You’re new.”

Eyes follow her. Blink. Hm. He stepped after her. “You scare easily.”

Head tilt. “I will not hurt you. Who are you? One of Alan’s friends?”

A frown as he knelt down. “Alan is someone who passes through here.” He said.

Zane blinked. “I… don’t know if I should give you my name. Call me diver.”

Zane looked round. “In my bedroom. In the hotel. In the Dark Place.”

“Casper?” He asked. “Casper Darling? Of course…. Of course you’re one of those.”

Zane tilted his head. “I am not…. Ugh. What is it you need?” He asks, lighting a cigarette

A rose brow as he approached her, smoke flowing behind him. “What…. You found this?”
