Elegant study! Not surprised to see ant colonies recycle every bit of nutrients but indeed very cool that removal of the fluid is required for molting success & happy that our fire ants contributed-

Anyone else going to #EntSoc23 ? See my talk Monday to learn about my work with Daniel Kronauer about how clonal ants maintain viable genotypes! Pictured (left) is a rare haploid male next to a diploid female (right). Rare haploids helped us detect crossover recombination!

I just learned of the two graduate students injured in a shooting during the Entomological Society of America Southeastern Branch meeting. Grad insurance is pretty awful and these are going to be big bills for these young people. Please help if you can. gofund.me/c538310f
