Hello A few thoughts on the clip of Suldana below… At the hour when people of colour and Muslims are being treated violently in society, I could not be silent. Here we have an MP, Sultana, being asked by all reasonable standards an absurd question (why should it matter that

The UK riots have exposed a serious flaw in how British media execs think about diversity and onscreen representation. A flaw I have been writing about since at least 2012: Positive portrayal of racially diverse individuals vs portrayal of racially diverse communities. A thread…

The rioters are not ‘protesting’ or rioting against individuals, I am sure if you ask them many will say “they are not racist” and “I have Muslim/Black friends”. THEY ARE RIOTING/PROTESTING AGAINST COMMUNITIES.

UK TV must bear some responsibility in how it has portrayed these communities. Instead for too long we have measured diversity and success by counting the racial identities of the “individuals” on-screen and not realised that communities are just as important if not more so.

UK Riots: Racism & Islamophobia are ingrained in the soul & fabric of British society - its greatest exports. It's not 'pro-British' 'far right thuggery' 'anti-immigration' etc It's racism & islamophobia. Stop being invested in the lie of 'this is not who we are'. The proof is in

I don't know how this individual came to this conclusion... The biggest issue here is class, not race. What would would the prospects be for a black woman from a working class background?

People should explore the history of Benin, Mali, Kongo, Songhai, and Asante. All of these kingdoms had relationships with Europe during the precolonial period. Let's be honest it was greed and control, which the British Empire brought during colonisation

Black women face disproportionately higher risks during pregnancy and childbirth according to a report out today. More than half said they faced challenges with healthcare professionals, and more than a quarter reported experiencing discrimination. Gargy Patel report.

This is a very real, and serious injustice. It comes at the same time as another report highlights the general deterioration in maternity-related healthcare. As usual, the sweeping reforms needed to tackle discrimination will also benefit all of society. theguardian.com/society/2025/j…

Tharel Thompson, 30, from Barbados miraculously survived an unprovoked attack in Reading which left him with life-changing injuries. This is the definition of strength 🙏🏾

The lack of empathy in the comments is crazy and very scary in the times we are in. People blamed the victim for not having travel insurance rather than looking at the fact he was attacked at random in the UK.
