Take a peek inside this week's session of DIGITAL BOOT CAMP where students got acquainted with the #camera and other media equipment. They also began #production on mini "How To" #documentaries.

Textile artist Lisett Clark-Dziedzic's show, 'Oneness', has opened at 351 Van Brunt St. in Redhook. The theme of the show is "Cover/Uncover: Fabric Collage Resistance from Waste to Wonder." Thank you, lisett for generously donating 20% of the proceeds to Hook Arts!

During our last DIGITAL BOOT CAMP class, students formed open-ended interview questions and partnered to spend 6 minutes interviewing each other. This exercise strengthens their interview skills in the field and supports the cultivation of new connections.

Across all of our media programs, we strive for measurable outcomes: 1. Students will be able to identify #intentionality in film. 2. Students will be able to identify different shot #compositions. 3. Students will be able to identify various filmmaking #techniques.

THROUGH HER LENS is a deep immersion into a multitude of filmmaking components, creating a holistic understanding. Students created Tree of Life charts, discussed representation in media, screened part of Watermelon Woman, and began to formalize ideas for their class documentary.

Our Digital Boot Camp students went to an ICE protest for their #documentary on immigration policy. They captured and collaborated with community members to share narratives often left out of mainstream media. #activateallvoices

This weekend, take a moment to write down what you are thankful for. We are thankful for the boundless potential emanating from the youth that enrich our classrooms and community.

While filmmaking seems sometimes shrouded in mystery, one thing for sure is that there are many people involved at each phase of making a film.
