This article 'Is Honey Actually Good For You? " Is worth a read & is fairly accurate. However I'd say crystallised/set #honey is the better as it shows that it has not been over heated. Honey can reset after adding gentle heat but not excessive heat. telegraph.co.uk/health-fitness…

How many bees fit in a city? When it comes to Honey bees it’s far less than you may think it is or what is actually plonked there by well meaning but misguided beekeepers/corporates. link.springer.com/article/10.100…

Thornes are selling a new product reproducing queen pheromone called "TempQueen". This is to stop a queenless colony from ending up with laying workers. Not sure this will work because it's the brood pheromones that stop laying workers.

This beekeeping season has reached an early peak. Swarming is still a priority. Available equipment may be reducing rapidly. The warm, dry, sunny weather continues but for how long? Early honey crops appear promising in many areas. Will a June gap appear early?

The main findings of this work are the significant differences in Na, K, Mg, and Ca levels between natural honey and artificial syrups, and the ability to detect honey adulteration using the cost-effective SCGD OES method. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

I often get the question asked, "When will nucs and queens be ready for sale?" The answer is June - July if you want a good British Mated Queen. Reasons: poor queen matings in spring, queens often fail. Colonies need to build up 1st before splitting without loosing a honey crop

Beekeeping for this year is coming an abrupt end. Treating and feeding this weekend & reducing hive entrances to help fight off robbing bees & wasps. Weak colonies or ones with failing queens or even too much space are at risk. These Blackthorne Sloe berries are 2 months early.

A curious finding about wild-living #honeybee colonies in Germany. Only 12% survived annually. That's below replacement value (which would be expected to be about 33%). doi.org/10.1002/ece3.7…
