When you’re a performing arts teacher, and your “kids” are supposed to perform at an assembly, but your actual kid has COVID (and maybe the other one too) you roll in just for assembly, then roll back out. Thankful for the best Performing Arts team around helping pull up my slack

Then (circa ‘04 or ‘05??)…. And now (2024)! *We did not see Mind Play; but I insisted on a group photo in front of my old pal’s giant poster. Fun day improving and touring Arena Stage facilities!

Tomorrow is a Teacher Work Day with option to work from an alternate location- making today my last day at Holmes this school year! And what a great last day it was!

We can’t wait!

I’m still learning to balance it all now that I’m a mom of 3! Social media being one of the things to fall to the wayside! ….But we are making theatre magic every day! Check out what my Beginning Students told me they’ve learned since school began!

POV: you’re supposed to do graded performances with your advanced students but EIGHT KIDS are absent so instead you cut the color sections out of newspapers for part of the musical set and play some improv games! Here’s to Friday!

This morning I went to hang up next week’s rehearsal schedule, and the whole stapler fell apart in my hand…. Pretty indicative of my day in general! How’s everyone else doing? 🤣

Student teacher swap day- nailed it (she didn't dress like a teacher and I'm so glad bc it allows me to prove how well I captured her. She was sad she didn't wear her green crocs today)

Saturday set day was a big success! Thanks to the parents and students who helped out, along with Mr. Hutto and Ms. RC… even our amazing custodian, Flor’s, daughter helped out! Holmes is absolutely where the heart is!!

So nice to have Annandale Theatre Co visit with us today!
