Farewell Farewell, Fairport Convention For some reason this wonderful footage passed me by until today Colour 16mm of folk-rockers jamming in their garden in the late 60s is just as evocative and magical to me as any seedy B+W footage from Warhol's Factory youtube.com/watch?v=O8_eFR…

STOLEN FACE (1952) – on Talking Pictures TV at 3.35pm – is one of two films star Paul Henreid made for Hammer Films and director Terence Fisher. The Radio Times called it a “wild fantasy about sexual obsession and the incredible achievements of plastic surgery.”

Morning. Happy Gala Day to anyone off to the miners’ Big Meeting at Durham today. Lovely (albeit undated) picture of Harton Colliery Band which had its origins, before the First World War, in the earlier Tyne Dock Temperance Band here in South Shields.

Tony: Do you mind, I'm trying to read, don't interrupt. I'm on the edge of my seat Sid: Good, is it? Tony: Good? This is red hot, this is mate. I'd hate to think of this getting into the wrong hands. As soon as I've finished it, I shall recommend they ban it! #TheMissingPage

Making a PowerPoint of the churches so far (scanned) as I am doing a talk on Wednesday 7th August and can project it. Colours look washed out as I'm filming from a screen in sunshine but you get the gist! This isn't all of it.. it's taking a while!

Fifty years ago, Nationwide met a trio of wonderful ladies - Mrs Simpson, Mrs Smith and Miss Lee. They were season ticket holders for the Llandudno to Douglas steamship, as the triumvirate spent each day of the summer season - 57 days in total - making the six-hour return trip.
