Wonderful evening at the British Museum at the opening of the ancient India, living traditions exhitbion. Superbly curated by Dr Sushma Jansari. Can’t be many openings that receive a tri-religious blessing! Added bonus of meeting some history idols. mary beard William Dalrymple et al
Finished this excellent book today. The Wager by David Grann is a fascinating insight into the perils of sea voyages in the 18th century. It reads like a thriller. Once I picked it up, I could not turn away from the trials and tribulations of the crew.

Just received a treat from Fox Lane Books 🦊. Beautifully wrapped, speedily delivered with a personalised message! Cant wait to tuck into “Leftovers” Dr Eleanor Barnett after hearing her at York Festival of Ideas on Monday. Books Are My Bag #choosebookshops
Huge respect for Rachel Reeves for having the courage to show emotional vulnerability in public. I’ve listened to at least two podcasts since where they’ve essentially gossiped and shamed her for doing so. Clear there’s a long way to go when discussing mental health & wellbeing
Ok…so I know there’s the small matter of a session plan & proposal but I was thinking of these for Historical Assoc conference 2026 Ian Dawson & the many many attendees who have remarked on my 👠over the years! #4ft10inch (me not the heels 😝) 🏃🏻♀️ whad’ya reckon?! 🤗
Wow. “A History of England in 25 poems” by Catherine Clarke is superb. You are guided through expertly curated & analysed poems that offer an insight into the soul of England. As the author puts it; “Perhaps only poetry can begin to capture these moments of extreme experience.”
Wonderful evening at British Library listening to Dr. Miranda Kaufmann & Sudhir Hazareesingh discuss their new books as part of “Heiresses and Rebels: Stories of Money, Exploitation and Resistance in Caribbean and Atlantic Slavery”.
Testing out some new posters around complex thinking. Please le me know what you would think and how you would tweak the visuals or message. oliver caviglioli Tom Sherrington James Fitzgibbon
