Detailed characterization of Arabidopsis DAHP synthases revealed highly-complex regulation of the plant shikimate pathway. At least five different effector molecules (i.e. tyrosine, tryptophan, chorismate, arogenate, caffeate) feedback-regulate different enzyme isoforms.
