This is a bad take, not because the Greco-Romans were ethnic Anglo-Germanics, but that the legacy of the Greco-Romans was extensively researched and expanded by Anglos and Germans. It was an Englishman, Gibbon, who wrote the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, not an Italian.
