Today we hold in our hearts Bebe, Elsie and Alice, three little girls so cruelly murdered in a heartbreaking tragedy. As we grieve today, let us also remember that we are a caring country, defined by compassion, decency and respect for the rule of law.

The Government remain fixated on their promise to “get Britain building again” and have committed to build a record 1.5 million new homes for the next five years. But who are these new homes for, if Disabled and older people are excluded from living in them?

One year on, we still feel the heartbreak of Elsie, Alice and Bebe’s senseless murder. In the days that followed, despite the fear and uncertainty, so many across our country chose compassion over hate. They showed up, stood together, and reminded us what this country is about.

The government must publish the legal advice it’s received on Netanyahu’s grotesque restriction of aid to Gazans. There can be no denying it any longer. Israel has egregiously breached international law.
