We are honoured to be a Downie Wenjack Fund Legacy School. Today we each walked two kilometres, collectively walking over 600 km to help get Chanie home. tammy denomme London District Catholic School Board #dosomething
We found out that walking 600 kilometres would be the distance between London and Cornwall. Chanie was incredibly brave for attempting this journey to be reunited with his family. May we always honour his life and legacy in promoting truth and reconciliation. Downie Wenjack Fund
Many thanks to Ray John for teaching us about wampum belts this morning. Students were very interested in learning about the history and significance of wampum. After, we used Lego bricks to make ‘The Dish with One Spoon’ wampum belt. tammy denomme @saintmarklondon London District Catholic School Board
Today the Grade 5/6’s learned about Treaty #6, the London Township Treaty of 1796. This treaty is where our school community is situated on. It is important for all of us to know about and honour the treaties that can be found throughout Canada. tammy denomme Downie Wenjack Fund London District Catholic School Board
