Event Update: Tuesday Mining Tour Due to the Easter Bank Holiday, St Hilda's Pit Head will be closed on Tuesday 23rd April 2019. The mining tours will recommence on Tuesday 30th April.

The Mining Tour on 14th May is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Thank you so much to everyone who came to our events on Friday, we were honoured to be part of such a moving service and a fitting commemoration to those who lost their lives

St Hilda's Pit Head is now open to the public for a Mining Tour every Tuesday between 12pm - 2pm. Two miners from the Harton and Westoe Banner Group will be on site to show you around St Hilda's Colliery and tell stories of the pit.
