At the mouth of the River Peffery in Dingwall is a Sycamore tree. It stands in perfect alignment with the bridge over the river. The riverside walk provides an enjojable stroll, albeit today under leaden skies.

Sunrise over the Cromarty Firth this morning. A wonderful start to the day in the Highlands, but its turned duller and colder as the day has progressed. BBC Scotland Weather

Pre dawn yesterday the sunrise provided a wonderful colour in the sky as the sun rose over the Black Isle in the Highlands. The River Peffery turned red and orange as the light reflected off it. Good sunrises/sunsets have been a rare sight this winter.

Totally lost my mojo for photography and it has been almost 10 months since I last picked up my camera. Decided to head out to the Blackwater today to admire the autumn colours and to see if I can pick up where I left off. Lots to relearn.

Looking east from Achmelvich. I got up early in the hope of a sunrise over the hills of Asyynt, but alas Suilven and Cul Mor were bathed in mist. They are tremendous hills.

Baosbheinn and Beinn an Eoin from Loch Ewe. Despite the good weather the hills were shrouded in dark clouds at times. The North West Highlands are a fabulous place to visit.

Looking across Loch a Chuillin towards Sgurr a Choire Rainich today. A very mild, but stormy day in the Highlands. The southerly wind has stripped a lot of snow off the hills.
