my fav senegalese rap song of the year is Zo Flame & BM Jaay’s “Weurseuk.” i like how the spirit of mbalax’s polyrhythmic percussion is in there but not so overt in the mix as we’ve seen from some of the other mbalax rap this decade (and no ny drill here either). subtly addictive

I'm not just a South African 🇿🇦 artist. Calling me only that is disrespectful. I'm African, and my dream is to unite Africa. When people label me South African, I feel like my dreams are failing. Seeing Ghana 🇬🇭 and South Africa 🇿🇦 fighting over who owns Amapiano makes me cry.

“Drill Ka Ta Morri” by Migas49_premier: “Lyrically, the song blends streetwise storytelling with expressive local vernacular... the way Migas49 phrases his lines gives the track a sense of raw authenticity.” hiphopafrican.com/migas49-influe… #hiphopafrican
