For the past 10 weeks, my friends and I have driven through all lower 48 states in a limousine we bought off of Craigslist all for one goal: to eventually get to LA and meet Ellen Degeneres. We’ll be right here outside of her studio. RT to get Ellen’s attention!

After hearing President Trump’s inauguration speech, Hillary Clinton says she began to get nervous. And it sounds like she wasn’t the only one. “George W. Bush says to me, ‘Well that was some weird sh-t.’”

Penguins in the Amazon?! 🐧🌴 Some of the penguins went on a field trip to meet other animals at Shedd. Wellington seemed most interested in the fishes in Amazon Rising! The black-barred silver dollars also seemed interested in their unusual visitor.

The adventure continues! 🐧🐧 This morning, Edward and Annie explored Shedd’s rotunda. They are a bonded pair of rockhopper penguins, which means they are together for nesting season. Springtime is nesting season for penguins at Shedd, and this year is no different! (1/3) 👇

Penguins like Edward and Annie will begin to build their nests next week. Join us digitally for nesting coverage! In the meantime, we will be sharing lots of different animal updates (and yes, Wellington will return!) 🐧👀 (2/3)

While this may be a strange time for us, these days feel normal for animals at Shedd. Our caregivers are constantly providing new experiences for the animals to explore and express their natural behaviors with. Let us know what penguin activities you would like to see! (3/3)

We may not have penguins 🐧 or a SUE 🦖, but we do have Chris, who normally takes care of our collections objects in the dark. For a special treat, we let him out to explore the museum.

Where's Wellington now? 🐧 This little rockhopper took a tour of Shedd's Wild Reef...and he's not alone! A few of the Magellanic penguins that call Shedd home joined this penguin party, checking out this massive habitat.

What does a mask do? Blocks respiratory droplets coming from your mouth and throat. Two simple demos: First, I sneezed, sang, talked & coughed toward an agar culture plate with or without a mask. Bacteria colonies show where droplets landed. A mask blocks virtually all of them.
