A number of Officers are trialling new pagers with the ability for two-way communication. The trial may extend to On Call Firefighters too. It certainly did the job at 1am this morning when mobilised as a tactical advisor 😳📟

Polite notice - this is why it is important to not park on double yellow lines, or in any other space that is not designed for parking. As you can see, the fire crews struggle to access equipment quickly and safely when vehicles have illegally parked on the roads.

Crews from Watford Fire Station, Garston Fire Station, RickmansworthFire, Hemel Hempstead, @StAlbansfire and Hertford Fire On-Call attended and extinguished the fire #allcallsstartwithcontrol

INCIDENT UPDATE: We are in attendance at a fire at a derelict building in Cheshunt. We are aware that a large amount of smoke can be seen from Lieutenant Ellis Way and the A10. Please be assured that the fire is under control, and there are no casualties. 1/2

Eight fire engines are in attendance, and we are being supported by our colleagues from London Fire Brigade We are likely to be at the scene for several more hours as we continue to contain the fire and ensure it is fully extinguished. Please avoid the area, thank you. 2/2

We currently have six fire engines with an Aerial Ladder Platform and water bowser attending a large fire off Caldwell Lane near Hitchin. Beds Fire and Rescue, Herts Police EEAST Ambulance Service, Environment AgencySE are supporting. Mobile command and welfare units are on the scene.

Crews from WGC, Hatfield Fire Stn and Hertford Fire Station, attended a fire at a Fish & Chip Shop in Welwyn Garden City. 6 BA, 3 hosereels, and 2 covering jets were used to extinguish the fire; a thermal imaging camera, triple extension ladder and cutting equipment were also used.

Today we remember Firefighters Wornham and Miller who lost their lives in service during a fire at Harrow Court on 2 February 2005, and Natalie Close, who tragically died. 1/🧵
