Lord Lambourne is arriving this afternoon.

Day 11 of #12DaysWild : a wild secret. Out shuffling on the trails and a chance conversation was very exciting. A local landowner is reaping the benefits of giving some fields over to nature & if I look carefully this summer I might see some of that for myself.

For now I will keep going with #nDaysWild because I find this the hardest time of year and desperately need something to bring hope and peace. Today I finished work later than expected and walked home as the light faded, listening to a robin's evensong.

Cooking. Sundays are no longer run days.

Pigeons live under the solar panels. I love when they randomly start making happy cooing noises in the night.

First lemsip-type drink of the day ☑️ It would be lovely to get to a weekend or end of term without being ill or exhausted. I'm fed up with having to write off plans to do things.

The sprained ankle is all better but I am splatted with lurgy. I would love to get back to some consistent training. Not because I have anything to train for (races are pretty much not for people like me now) but I just want to enjoy getting strong and staying strong.

Feeling too poorly to manage much other than sit under a blanket and knit. I love the shape of this scarf, watching the curve of it emerge as the rows increase.

Went on a training day today and it was brilliant. It was so good to talk about maths all day! And there was loads of food. Thank you Enigma Maths Hub Really looking forward to the next session in April.

My take on thumbprint cookies, inspired by Kim-Joy I was worried they were under baked (my oven is a bit temperamental), but after quality control I can confirm that they are perfectly done!

Boiler is being replaced (the housing association can't afford to put in heat pumps to replace broken boilers). The house is freezing. I'm sitting under many layers doing trigonometry.
