In 2022 and 2023 I refereed a paper called "Lockdowns and the Ethics of Intergenerational Compensation." Blind refereeing - I didn't know who wrote it. The argument is that while Covid lockdowns were reasonable, the harms inflicted on young people entitle them to compensation. 1/

In New Orleans at the Philosophy of Science Association conference last month, the author introduced himself - Kal Kalewold. Great to meet him. The paper is now out: journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/14… I disagree with the starting assumption (lockdowns were sensible) but it's a very good paper. 2/
